If you are a newly hired freelancer or temporary employee and will be employed for over 90 days in 2021, you are eligible to enroll through the bswift enrollment system for 2021 benefits, 45 days before your effective date. Your effective date is 90 days following your date of hire.
Eligible employees will receive an initial notice of the enrollment period from bswift via email (or via home mailing, if there is no email on file) once your hiring information is loaded into the bswift enrollment system. The enrollment window opens 45 days prior to your coverage effective date and you should receive weekly notices regarding enrollment within this timeframe. The window closes on your 90th day, and benefits go into effect on the 91st day. Please note that if you terminate employment prior to your 91st day of employment, your elections will be voided.
During your enrollment window, you will be able to make your 2021 elections for medical and TRIP commuter transit/parking benefits via the bswift enrollment system. For your 2021 voluntary benefit elections (e.g., auto/home insurance, pet insurance, etc.), you will need to contact your carrier directly to enroll or change your coverage for 2021.
